My Opinion of SIP (VoIP):

The Session Initiation Protocol is most often used as an open standard for voice over IP communications. It was created and standardized by the IETF which has been the primary driving force for internet standardization, while other VoIP standards such as H.323 have come from the telecommunication industry via the ITU.
