The exclusion of any quick and simple programming environment, such as the
Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code language, was the subject of a
Salon.com essay by
David Brinn in 2006.
As
personal computers have reached a mainstream marketing focus, feature such as programming languages have been removed, in part to be less scary to ignorant users as much as to require the minority of those interested to acquire their tools through alternative means.
