Tuxedo

A Tuxedo is another term for a dinner jacket used in North American English.

When dinner jackets first arrived in the United States, they did by way of the Tuxedo Park Club in Tuxedo Park, New York.

In modern parlance, the term "Tuxedo" is often misapplied to all forms of formal, semi-formal, and non T-shirt clothing, including the horrendously ostentatious suits worn at proms and weddings, of which Edward the VII would have probably thought disgusting.
