The Out Of Fuel Mechanism (or OOF Mechanism) is an analogy devised by
Andries Brouwer
to describe
the insanity of the Linux Out-Of-Memory Killer
(OOM Killer).
It substituted programs on a system with passengers on a plane, and memory with weight (requiring more fuel).
