Apple Computer tends to make products that are technically inferior to competitors and less durable. Nevertheless, they enjoy a zealous fan base and exceptional marketing. Steve Jobs is no small part of the cult of personality often referred to as the reality distortion field that is most obvious surrounding Mac World and in groups of two-or-more Apple users.
