I ordered a
buff double-breasted waistcoat from
Pakeman Catto and Carter which came with a becoming green back. The style was conservative, which is reasonable for something mail ordered, but quite what I wanted.
However, the first copy I received had a stain on the right lapel. Obviously this was not acceptable and it was promptly returned with such a complaint. A couple weeks later, I received a replacement, although this one had obviously been returned by another customer: it was creased and folded as if haphazardly repackaged, and above the left breast pocket, the reason for an earlier return was evident in that a tear in the fabric had been "fixed" with a drop of glue.
As return shipping was starting to add-up to the cost of the vest, and this defect would at least be hidden by a
jacket, I decided to stay with the current concern, and simply remain
unimpressed by the concern that Pakeman Catto and Carter place on their image.
