My Opinion of Year One:

Many people who go to see Year One expected it to be the next installment of Mel Brooks' History of the World: Part I, often to their disappointment. While Jack Black has proven to be a capable supporting actor, he and Michael Cera just can't compete with Mel Brooks and Gregory Hines.

This film was in itself an enjoyable experience, with some clever moments from David Cross (actor) and Hank Azaria while Michael Cera maintained his shy, not entirely well-intentioned but awkward persona which he's portrayed before in Arrested Development. To be fair, trying to live-up to Mel Brooks is a difficult task, and likely it would take a Miracle.
