Google

Google is the premier advertising company in the 21st century. They also happen to have a decent search engine which is useful for driving context-sensitive advertising as well as a a very useful mobile navigation program. Their chat system, e-mail, and social networking site however are sub-optimal.

Google's search engine was originally praised as a bold departure from the growing number of portal sites like Yahoo! through the end of the 20th century. Google would later admit that this was a happy co-incidence, since they simply hadn't had time to develop the home page further. Google would later verify this by continuing to add content to the homepage to the point where they were mimicking the sites they had been praised for not imitating.
