DRM in
Apple products first reached prominence with the
iTunes music store.
Apple Computers argued that it wanted to remove the DRM, but that the record labels wouldn't let it.
The removal of DRM from future music purchases prompted the
Electronic Frontier Foundation to analyze where else Apple uses DRM, with results that lend credence to the argument that Apple had been using the record labels as a distraction from its own DRM desires.
